well check up...updates

Peyton turned 4 on Feb 20th and we finally have her updated stats.

She currently weighs 29.5 lbs and is 38 inches tall. She has only gained about 1 lb over the last YEAR...but she has grown 3 inches. She continues to remain in the 3rd-10th percentile and the doc says she is just going to be a petite one...and as long as she is healthy, that is all he is concerned about! The first thing that she wanted to talk about to her Gramma after the doctor appointment was that she got to pee in a cup. She was so proud of herself!

She is growing up and changing so fast! She knows all of her letters (upper and lower case) and wants to write things all of the time. She is constantly asking me how to spell things. We are working on sounds...but she would just rather me tell her the letter. She got an easel for her Birthday and has become a little painter! Her favorite things to paint are butterflies and rainbows. So Aunt Amy...the smocks are definitely coming in handy!

EVERYTHING Peyton does is filled with dialogue. She has to talk out every action, every request and every concern to the fullest. Most of the time she exhausts me with her words but I also see where she is learning so much just talking things out sometimes! She doesn't just want to talk...she wants me to listen too. She doesn't go as far as to quiz me after she is done (like one of my friend's children) but she does make sure that I am listening! I don't have a clue where she got the talkative gene...James and I are so quite! (well, one of us is at least!) She is becoming quite the story teller too. She can recount almost any experience exactly how it occurred and also make up some incredible stories of the lives of her baby dolls and ponies. She has quite the imagination.

This was at her party at her Nana's house. She has started doing some really goofy faces lately anytime we get the camera out.

This was her birthday party with her friends. We had it at the church so the kids could have plenty of room to run and play!

Brady was 6 mos old on Feb 22 and his updated stats are: (he will be 7 mos old on Sunday...what a late update!)

17 lbs 8 oz and 28 inches long. That is a gain of 2.2 lbs in two months and 2 inches.

He has been rolling over from back to front and front to back for quite some time. He can sit up mostly on his own...unless there is something beside him that he wants and then he just topples over. He loves to play with whatever toy is the noisiest. He is still full of smiles all of the time and now has added in sounds too! He says Da-Da, Ba-Ba and other rambles. He doesn't have any idea what he is saying, he is just playing and practicing his new sounds. He loves that he has found his voice and that it amuses so many people. He definitely can "work the crowd" especially at church. There are constantly people paying more attention to him than anything else. That is why when he is awake...he is in Bible Class! haha

Brady also has teeth! We had a really rough 3 or 4 days last week with low fevers, running nose and a lot of crankiness which is so unlike him. I was hoping it was teething instead of him getting sick and it turned out to be right. Thursday morning we found his bottom 2 teeth had popped through! Yep, that is right...2 at once! He loves feeling those teeth with his tongue and his lower lip. He is always making funny faces trying to figure out what they are!

He is eating more and more. He currently eats cereal in the morning and before bed as well as 1-2 jars of baby food a day. So far, he has really liked everything that we have introduced to him except for the sweat peas. I usually mix it in with his cereal and he will eat it that way, but if we try to give it to him straight, he gags...over and over again!

He will no longer take a bottle so we have introduced the sippy cup. He doesn't really drink out of it yet, but he likes to play with it and takes it up to his mouth. His absolute favorite thing to do it play in his jump-a-roo. He has so much fun jumping and can get going quite well! He just squeals with joy. It is so much fun to watch!

I just love that face!

Tami and Brady!

Peyton took this picture at her party with her new digital camera that Tami bought her.

This is Brady's new "high chair". It is a space saver high chair that just sits in a regular chair beside the table. It was given to us by another sweet mom. We love it! We didn't have room for a big high chair in the kitchen so it worked out really well!

Time has flown by and I can't keep up. We just try and have fun every day and make sure everyone has clean underwear and forget the rest! (not completely...but most days that is how it goes!) We are really excited that it is finally warming up so that we can hopefully get a lot of outside play time in!

My house is currently a disaster zone with "forbidden rooms" when people come over. In order for those to stop spreading...I am planning an overhaul this weekend. The kids are going to their Nana and Papa's house in OH (minus Brady since he won't take a bottle anymore, more on that later). Hopefully there will be a lot more organization and a lot of things donated to goodwill or the trash from the garage and school room, access to the 1/2 bath off of my bedroom (completely full of clutter right now) and decor on the walls in my room...FINALLY. I have more on my to do lists...but we are going to start with those things first! I have some great friends that are coming over to help and a Great Gramma that is coming to hold Brady so it is looking like it will be a really productive weekend!

I will try and be better at updates in the months to come, but we will just have to see how it goes. Last week we were without the internet for 3 days and they were really good days. I was a better mom, wife and person without it. I got more Bible reading done, more snuggle time with the kids and more sleep in those 3 days than I have in a long time. I am not going to "do without" the internet completely, but I am limiting myself and cutting back quite a bit. You don't realize how much time you spend/waste on something until it is no longer there.
